Drake lost A Millionaire Gamble At UFC 274

It’s the second time in less than two months that the Canadian has squandered part of his fortune by following his gut instinct

The singer, songwriter, record producer and actor’s betting instincts failed him again, as he was confident that Justin Gaethje would defeat Charles Oliveira at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Against the odds

Despite the fact that the Brazilian Oliveira did not make the required weight for the fight and thus entered the octagon stripped of his lightweight title, Gaethje was never a betting favorite, but Drake believed in him.

Prior to the fight, the Canadian artist deposited $427,000 in favor of Justin Ray Gaethje, who in case of winning would have produced more than a million dollars.

However, Oliveira applied a rear-naked choke in the first round of the fight and the referee ended the bout.

High cost

The South American gladiator will now have the opportunity to regain the 155-pound belt later this year against either Michael Chandler or Islam Makhachev as possible challengers.

Oliveira had also challenged Conor McGregor, but the Irishman sees a return to the lightweight division as unlikely.

With respect to Drake’s lost bid, this follows a similar one made in March in favor of Jorge Masvidal against Colby Covington.

On that occasion, the rapper saw $275,000 go down the drain, which he thought would net him more than a million greenbacks.

However, being one of today’s top-earning singers and with an estimated net worth of $250 million at the age of 35, squandering less than a million is like pulling a cat’s hair out of its head.
