Rapper A$AP Rocky posted his $550,000 bail and was photographed being released from a Los Angeles jail Wednesday – just hours after he was arrested at LAX for allegedly shooting an acquaintance after an argument in Hollywood last year.

Police arrested the performer, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday morning on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers were also seen outside of his LA home, smashing into the gate with a battering ram, before apparently raiding the property. Detectives seized multiple boxes of evidence from the house.

Mayers was taken to LAPD headquarters for questioning and was later booked. He is said to have requested the presence of his lawyers. 

The soon-to-be father posted $550,000 bail and was spotted leaving jail on Wednesday evening wearing a black and white outfit and sneakers. 

The LAPD issued a statement saying officers ‘worked diligently’ to investigate the November 2021 shooting, which left the victim with minor injuries, and ‘identify the suspect(s) involved.’ 

If convicted, Mayers could face up to one year jail time, a $1,000 fine and misdemeanor probation, per California Penal Code. If he received a felony assault with a deadly weapon conviction, Mayers could spend up to four years in state prison, be fined up to $10,000 and have mandatory probation.

The rapper was arrested shortly after he arrived at LAX on a private plane, NBC News first reported. He was returning home from a vacation in Barbados with his pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna. The couple recently denied rumors of a split and cheating.

Jaden Smith stated that late rapper Tupac Shakur had once proposed to his mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, in recently resurfaced interview.

Pinkett Smith has spoken about close relationship with Shakur on numerous occasions, with the then-budding stars having attended Maryland’s Baltimore School for the Arts together in the 1980s. Shakur was shot and killed in 1996.

Her son Smith briefly touched on their friendship during a 2018 interview with Los Angeles radio personality Big Boy, a clip of which was uploaded to YouTube this month.

The Smith family has faced increased scrutiny over the past few weeks, after Pinkett Smith’s husband, Will Smith, slapped Chris Rock at last month’s Oscars in reaction to the comedian making a joke at her expense.

In the clip, Jaden Smith spoke about his musical journey and how he felt added pressure when it came to his career because of the success that his parents had experienced.

“Once I went out into the world and I saw how people feel about my parents [I felt pressure],” Jaden Smith said. “I didn’t understand, and I’m still understanding more and more every day that they’re just a staple in the world and they made people feel a type of way that nobody has ever made anyone feel.”

“So I just didn’t understand just how deep-rooted they are in hip-hop as well,” added Jaden Smith, whose father made his name as a rapper before becoming a movie star.

On noticing imagery of his mother with Shakur in the studio, Jaden Smith said: “I’m looking at the picture right here of Tupac on the shirt right there and Tupac asked to marry mom, and she was like, ‘Pac, we’re best friends.'”

“They say marry your best friend, but I’m glad they didn’t,” quipped Big Boy, real name Kurt Alexander, as Jaden Smith nodded in agreement.

“Just seeing how deep-rooted everybody is in my family in hip-hop and in the culture, that puts even more pressure on it,” said the “Never Say Never” hitmaker.

Pinkett Smith, who tied the knot with Will Smith in 1997, has spoken about her love for Shakur, though has stated that they were not romantically involved.

“I know that most people want to always connect it in this romance thing, but that’s just because they don’t have the story,” the Set It Offstar said of her relationship with Shakur in a 2017 interview with Sirius XM host Sway Calloway.

In 2018, the Red Table Talk host called her connection with Shakur “precious” and admitted that they kissed but didn’t enjoy it.

“You know, it’s so funny because now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us,” she said, per Pop Sugar.

Earlier this month, a letter purportedly written by Pinkett Smith’s daughter, Willow Smith, asking Shakur to return and make her mom happy went viral on social media.

The letter was highlighted by internet personality Kevin Samuels, and it was then shared on a TikTok video. The letter sparked debate online and many questioned its authenticity.

Jorge Rivas at ColorLines stated that the letter was added to Instagram in 2012. Willow, who was aged 11 at the time, purportedly added a picture of the letter to her Instagram, saying she wrote it “years” ago. The post appears to have since been deleted.

The letter read: “Dear Tupac, I know you are alive someplace. I think that my mommy really misses you. Can you please come back Can you come back so momy [sic] and me can be happy! I wish you were here… I really do! Love, Willow.”,

The controversial Dancehall artiste in December 2021 took on Nigerian artistes and their fans after he said “I don’t look up to any stupid Nigeria artiste I look up to my fans. F*ck Nigeria”.

His comment stirred controversy as Nigerians fired back at him but he insisted that “Shatta Wale took to Twitter to reply the Nigerians coming at him. “As for Nigerians they think they can always say what they want to say Fuck your talks”.

In a viral tweet, he continued that “ya’ll who think I spoke the truth this, I don’t even remember you guys promoting Ghanaian artiste in your country until u guys will realize your artiste blow in Ghana to say thank you ..F”.

However, Shatta Wale’s perception of Nigerians has appeared to have changed as he now shifts the blame to Ghanaians

Please can we just respect Nigerians for their hard work and stop comparing our lazy lifestyle to theirs,” he said in a Tweet.

Shatta Wale added that “it’s shame ppl think Nigerians will come hard at me but see they are the ones doing the streaming cuz they understand what Talent means .. Ghana music is a shame“.

It has however unclear what has triggered Shatta Wale to describe Ghanaians as lazy. As expected, his tweet has sparked another debate.

He arrived at LAX on a private jet after having just been on holiday in Barbados with his pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna. 

The couple recently denied rumors of a split and cheating. 

Los Angeles police were investigating Mayers, 33, after a man claimed the rapper shot him near Vista Del Mar and Selma Avenues on November 6 around 10.20pm.

The victim claimed Mayers approached him on the street and fired a handgun at him three or four times. 

One of the bullets reportedly grazed his left hand. 

Mayers had reportedly been walking with two other people at the time of the shooting. It is unclear who he was with.  

Police arrested the rapper with the help of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 

Rihanna, 33, was spotted at an airport in Barbados on Friday where she met Mayers and his family. She wore a vibrant mini dress that showed off her baby bump.

The couple looked relaxed as they greeted one another and chatted in the terminal with their loved ones by their side. 

Their travels came as shoe designer Amina Muaddi, the woman accused of having an affair with Mayers during Rihanna’s pregnancy, fiercely denied the allegations.

Shoe designer Amina Muaddi took to Instagram on Friday to issue a statement after social media was alight with claims the rapper, 33, had cheated on the heavily pregnant singer, 34, with her.  

She wrote: ‘I’ve always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media doesn’t deserve any response or clarification, especially one that is so vile.

Rapper and record producer Kendrick Lamar will release a long-awaited new album on may 13, five years since his Grammy award winning album Damn,

Lamar revealed the date and new album title, Mr Morale & Big Steppers, on his website Oklama.com, which launched last August with an image of folders and made reference to Lamar producing his “Final TDE Album” for the top dawg entertainment label.

Dababy is standing right next to the guy he has just shoot in the leg, who is whaling as the dispatcher solicit info. The rapper says the trespasser clearly knew it was his property because he mention him by name.

The dispatcher want to know the trespasser condition, and when he asked if the shooting victim is alert, Dababy goes on him, saying, “do you not here this man bro?”

Dababy follow it up by advising the dispatcher not ask the same questions over and over.

The cops has been called 30+ times to Dababy mansion.
